White, with the arms and the name of the city: the flag of Ciampino
This flag is plain white. In the centre stands a blue shield crossed from bottom left to top right by a gold band, with six silver arrowheads above it and six bunches of gold grapes below. A gold mural crown with a red lining sits above the shield, and a wreath of laurel and oak tied with a tricolour ribbon frames it. The words «Città di Ciampino» are arched over the top in black capitals.
Cosa dice lo Statuto
The Statute of the Comune of Ciampino says the Comune is identified in its deeds and seal by the name «Città di Ciampino». It describes the arms as divided in two: blue with six silver arrowheads in the first part, and blue with six bunches of grapes with green tendrils in the second, with a bend across the whole. The city crown has eight towers, five of them visible, all of gold.
Aeroplanes and vines
The Statute explains that the six silver arrows stand for the flight of aeroplanes and the six bunches of grapes for the importance of wine production, and that the crown stands for the honorary title of city. The two branches, olive and oak, stand for peace and strength.
A city since 2004
Italian Wikipedia says the arms were granted by decree of the President of the Republic of 21 April 1980, that the Comune was given the title of city in 2004, and that the flag is a white cloth bearing the arms and the name of the comune in the centre. Ciampino was a hamlet of Marino until 1974 and lies in the metropolitan city of Rome, between Rome and the Castelli Romani.
